Why we're getting behind Max Eaves and London 2012.

We are delighted to announce that we are now supporting local Pole Vaulter, Max Eaves, as he attempts to qualify for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Following the appointment of BMW Group as the Official Automotive Partner of the 2012 Games, BMW is now actively supporting British athletes, such as Ellie Simmonds and Louis Smith, via the BMW London 2012 Performance Team. Meanwhile, in line with the Performance Team initiative, BMW dealers like us will be working with local athletes, supporting their endeavours to qualify for Team GB or ParalympicsGB.

Max trains locally, at the Blackpool & Fylde AC in Blackpool. Ascot-born Max Eaves has been Pole Vaulting since the age of 13 and at just 22 has already won the National Indoor Title with a Senior Ranking of 1st and also a Bronze medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

‘I'm really grateful to Bowker and BMW for their support,’ said Max Eaves. ‘It's tough trying to qualify for an Olympic place and it's a big help knowing that they are behind me, helping to raise funds and awareness. It's also fantastic having a brand new BMW X1 from now until the end of the 2012 Games. There's a lot of travelling to heats, competitions and promotional events so it's great being able to arrive there in style.’

Chris Eccles, Dealer Principal at Bowker Blackburn, said: ‘This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to get really involved with the 2012 Games. Our staff and customers are keen to support London 2012 so we're really happy to be backing Max Eaves.’

Why not continue to follow Max's updates here at Bowker Blackburn.
